From a Vision Board to a Vision Community

As the days grow shorter and the deadline season looming, it’s easy to feel those winter blues coming in. It’s all too easy to get stuck in the repetitive cycle of waking up, going to the library, and falling into bed, before setting on the alarm to do it all over again.

What better way to shake the cycle than by unwinding, trying something new, and meeting new people- all while releasing your inner Van Gogh in the process?

Enter, Cosy Kreations.

Humble Beginnings:

For University of Liverpool students Chelsea and Mai, Cosy Kreations started as a simple girls’ night in, crafting vision boards. But that laid-back evening quickly evolved into one of Liverpool’s most popular community-based creative events.

Since its launch in February 2024, Cosy Kreations has blossomed. What began as intimate events with local creatives has grown into sold-out events at larger venues, even collaborating with global brands like LUSH.

“After making our vision boards, we couldn’t stop talking about how much fun it was. That’s when we realised there was a real need for inclusive, creative spaces where people could come together, share ideas, and try different art forms in a fun, relaxed environment.”

Navigating Challenges:

While their success might seem effortless, it hasn’t come without its challenges. Chelsea shared the reality of balancing passion projects with the pressures of university life.

“University can get overwhelming. It’s important to strike a balance between work, socialising, and personal downtime,” she explained. “Whether it’s through a hobby, spending time with friends, or just taking a breather, you need to make space for moments of relaxation.”

Chelsea credits her support system for helping her juggle everything, adding that “building a strong team, delegating tasks, and staying open to feedback” were essential.

When asked about protecting wellbeing during university, Chelsea emphasised the importance of connection.

“Surround yourself with a supportive community—whether that’s friends, a club, or a creative outlet. Being around like-minded people can really reduce stress and lift your mood.”

What’s next for Cosy Kreations?

With 2024 quickly winding down and the new year on the horizon (I know, how?!), Cosy Kreations shows no signs of slowing. The duo has ambitious plans for the future, promising even bigger and more creative events in the coming year.

“We’re planning more corporate workshops, collaborations with local businesses, and larger events like art fairs and makers’ markets. We’re also excited to get involved with the music industry,” they revealed.

Understanding the importance of mental health, they’re also set to introduce wellbeing-focused events, combining creative expression with self-care.

Get cosy, say farewell to your winter blues and welcome in a new-found  winter wellbeing with trying something new!
